Couples and singles who book an EDventure Experience will be provided with their own en suite bathroom.

Yes, your EDventure program manager will be there to pick you up from the airport and transport you to your hotel. They will also be with you throughout your trip and upon your return to the airport.

You will fly independently to your program location, and can either book your own travel through travel websites such as, or by contacting and agent at to assist you with booking your flights.

It’s always best to have a little bit of foreign currency on you once you enter the country. However, you will be able to withdrawal additional money from ATM’s. Travellers cheques are not recommended. The currency in Cambodia is the Riel, and the currency used in Costa Rica are Colones. Both countries widely accept USD.

Dietary needs will be met for your three meals a day, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Don’t forget to specify food allergies, vegan, vegetarian, etc. on your Participant Travel Information Document (PTI), which will be provided to you once you have booked your program.

Our in-country accommodation locations are very secure, and have a long-time business relationship with EDventure and our staff. Our participants are always looked after. Safes and places to lock up personal items and valuables will be available at the hotel. However, bring only the personal items and electronics that you absolutely need.

Flights are not included in the total tour price, however, we have partnered with Flight Centre who will be able to assist you to organise and purchase your flights.

Deposits of $500 will be accepted in order for us to book your program placement and confirm your trip. Full balance is due 30 days prior to your departure date. You also have the option to pay your trip cost in full if you prefer.

Depending on your nationality, the type of visa and cost will need to be checked prior departure. Visa costs are generally cheap, and fairly easy to obtain. Be sure your passport has at least 6 months validity. To help you determine the kind of visa you will need to apply for, visit Visa HQ at or


You will need a visa for Cambodia. This can be obtained upon arrival at the airport for about $30 US dollars (please have US dollars in cash). You will also need to bring two passport size, colored photos as well.

Costa Rica

Costa Rica will grant a 90 day tourism visa upon arrival. Recent participants have paid about $30 US dollars and this cost is likely to be the same for you. Please visit for further information.

Some immunisations may be required for Cambodia & Costa Rica. EDventure International highly recommends that you visit your doctor or local travel health clinic to find out about immunization and vaccination recommendations. A list of required and recommended immunizations can be found at You may need to get many of these immunizations 4 – 8 weeks before your departure date. You will be located close to a hospital in all of our country locations.

If your children are also 40+, they are more than welcome to also participate in the Experience Programs. However, we also provide EDventure programs to suite younger participants. Details for these programs can be found on our website

You can bring as much luggage as your airline allows, however packing lighter is always much easier.

Yes, there will be laundry facilities available at your accommodation.

The EDventure Experience programs have been crafted to suit individuals who have a bit of life experience and would be able to share their professional expertise with members of the community during the program. While there is no age minimum or maximum for these programs, these particular EDventure programs will best suit those who are 40 years and older.

Yes, there will be plenty of time for you to rest and enjoy relaxation on your trip. While your trip will be filled with plenty of cultural activities, village visits, and historical exploration, you will also have time each day to spend as you wish – either with further activities, or by relaxing by the pool in your accommodation.

Donations are welcome, but please confirm what you are bringing with your on-site program manager before your arrival, so that your donations can be put to use where there is the biggest need. There are various projects that EDventure is involved with, and your donations will be very gratefully received, so please let us know how you would like to help, and we will assist you with your gift.

Yes, all our areas of travel are safe for your EDventure tour. Our EDventure staff takes pride in putting your safety first. We always travel to areas that fit our high standards of safety. If a situation should arise in the country that may put our staff and participants at risk, we would re-organize your tour and place you on another program at another time when situations have improved.

Yes. Wifi is available in your accommodation, and in most restaurants. In addition, you can also purchase a sim card for your smart phone if you wish. This is relatively inexpensive and will allow you to be accessible throughout your program. In addition, your Program Manager will have a local phone with 3G. This number will be provided to you so that you can share it with any family members who may wish to reach you at any time.

Our trips visit remote areas where some walking will be required. A good level of fitness is essential for you to undertake walks in hot conditions particularly at Angkor Wat where there are some stairs but plenty of places to rest. Ensure you carry any medication you require for the day and consult your doctor for any health advice prior to trip departure.

Tipping isn’t customary in Cambodia or Costa Rica, however if you feel so inclined, usually $1 or $2 will be appreciated.
